Compost

Every year in the UK, millions of tonnes of household and commercial waste are buried in landfill sites, which produce Methane gas and leachate. It is estimated that 40% of land- filled waste is organic and could, therefore, be collected separately and composted.

At Worton we have created a composting facility, which enables us to turn garden waste into an organic soil–improving product that can be returned to the land. We collect in green waste, shred, store and screen it and over a period of 10 – 16 weeks, utilizing natural aerobic activity, we break down the garden waste and produce compost and blended soils.

Compost

(Eco-Friendly Soil Improving Compost)- Promotes vigorous growth · Replaces lost humus · Improves soil moisture retention ·Contains valuable nutrients and trace elements

Blended Soils

(A blend of screened soils and compost)
- Top dressing material · Ideal for creation of new garden areas · Popular for use in turfing applications

Reclamation

Our transportation and recycling technology is designed to help us reclaim and salvage as many whole re usable items as possible. We regularly have a range of salvage items for sale at a fraction of the cost of reclamation yards: EG: Butler/ Belfast sinks; Wrought Iron Gates; Pallets; reclaimed stone, slabs and bricks.

Feel free to give us a call if you’re looking for anything specific and if we haven’t got it currently - we’ll keep our eyes open for it.

Recycling

Our Philosophy? Why waste when it can be used again?
At M and M we are working hard to meet our targets, constantly reducing, reusing and recycling up to 90% of all the waste we receive.

We currently recycle: Garden trimmings, soils, hardcore, building materials, wood, metal, card and certain plastics.

Our new finger screen and light material picking station, in conjunction with our heavy material trommel system, allows us to seperate recyclable materials from the waste stream, which would normally be destined for landfill.
